Text Art
| There won't be a single day when you won't see text. Every day, on almost every place there is text: newspapers, television, advertisements, calendars... just to name a few. Text is important, to make something clear. Think of an advertisement: it won't be clear without the text telling what it is about. But to catch the attention from people, the text needs to fit nicely. Graphic designers think about the little details, perhaps you'll never notice that: must there be space? What kind of colour(s) fits with the rest of the image? Which size? Must it be bold or just regular? etc. Graphic designers take their time to make the text perfect for the rest of the image or for the vision. A lot of the Text Art pieces , and I'm sure you noticed that on deviantART, have a ''concept''. Most of the time a Text Art piece consists not only text, but also a meaning behind it... a concept. What does it tell you? And also the font is very important in that matter. There is also ASCII (text) Art, less popular here on dA than Misc. Text but also very interesting, no doubt about that. I copied this to explain the best what ASCII Art is from wikipedia.com: ASCII Art is an artistic medium that relies primarily on computers for presentation and consists of pictures pieced together from the 95 printable (from a total of 128) characters defined by the ASCII Standard from 1963 and ASCII compliant character sets with proprietary extended characters (beyond the 128 characters of standard 7-bit ASCII). If the concept/message of your Text Art piece is great, the amount of time or how you exactly made it doesn't matter. TextArt is about the great concept/message it tells you or how the typography itself looks or both of course. Text Art can be simple, but also very detailed. Text Art is a way to communicate, to get attention and recognition. deviantID + Daily Deviation Suggestions
 Hello there, My name is Sander, 21 years old and I live in a small country in Europe called The Netherlands (+1 GMT). 'Seto' (Japanese) is my nickname outside DeviantART. I'm studying Graphic Design and Laws and I enjoy hanging out with my friends, art, internet, movies, games, music etc. I'm part of Community Relations and became the Text Art Gallery Moderator in Feb. 2009 and with that I promised myself to be there for the community, for you. I take Daily Deviations suggestions for the gallery, would love it! But there are a few things you need to know before you start suggesting: - I only take Text Art suggestions (obviously hehe) - Make sure that the deviant hasn't already received a Daily Deviation within the past 3 months, and doesn't have tons of DD's already - Don't know how to suggest? Just hit the Note button on my page with the subject: ''DD suggestion'' include the thumb code or url along with the reason why you think the deviant deserves a Daily Deviation. - I cannot response to every suggestion, but just so you know: I appreciate it a lot!
